This new concept for Whitbread brings the colour and flavour of East Asian cuisine to a warm and comfortable eating environment. In an attempt to move away from the all too familiar cold, minimalist feel of many noodle bars, Ishi appeals to a wider audience with its Zen and zest concept. The bar area [zest] is colourful and vibrant on arrival, offering a lively atmosphere. Whereas the restaurant to the rear [Zen] offers a more cool and relaxed ambience. Colour, texture and lighting are all equally integral to the mood and have been considered with the same high level of detail. Harrison Ince have completed two restaurants with this concept, Wimbledon & Sevenoaks, but don’t be surprised to see Ishi become a household name in the near future.
