Harrison Ince were asked by Nikal to redevelop this red brick and buff sandstone, five-storey former commercial premises. The upper four floors of the building were converted for residential use with the ground floor and basement left to be redeveloped by future tenants as a retail unit.
This building presented a unique opportunity to create stunning apartments with panoramic views across the river Irwell. The long thin floor plan presented a challenge when designing the space, the concept of which was to create a shower pod dividing sleeping and living, leaving the space open plan and taking greatest advantage of the tall windows along the long elevation |

The interior design is kept simple and uncluttered, with white walls and a timber floor that runs throughout the apartment and a stylish cream kitchen with timber worktops to match the flooring and feature glass tiled splash backs.
The main entrance doors were replaced with contemporary timber doors and the existing circulation staircase with its Victorian glazed tiling and wrought iron spindled stairs was retained and refurbished. |
