In 2023, we were contacted by Dr David Hotchen, Lead Dentist at Alliance Dentistry, with a clear and ambitious vision: to double the size of his existing practice by expanding into the vacant adjoining office unit and transforming both spaces into one calm, contemporary, and fully compliant dental environment.

Working together, we designed a space that feels more like a boutique lounge than a clinic. Soft curves, natural tones, and layered lighting create warmth and tranquillity, while sustainable materials and hygienic finishes ensure longevity and wellbeing.

At the heart of the practice is an open, accessible reception with a bespoke timber counter and flexible seating that balances privacy with comfort. Thoughtful details — from supportive, inclusive furniture to softly lit corridors and serene surgeries — guide patients through a seamless experience.

Located within an Eco Business Park, the practice reflects a commitment to sustainability through solar energy, recycled materials, and antimicrobial finishes. Upstairs, additional surgeries and generous staff areas continue the same calm design language, bringing the whole two-storey layout together as one cohesive space.

Completed in September 2024 with Truland Construction and Decadent Dental, the project has been met with glowing feedback. Alliance Dentistry now stands as a sanctuary of wellbeing — a testament to how thoughtful, human-centred design can elevate clinical care.
