We are proud to have delivered the refurbishment of the iconic Brasshouse in Birmingham, a project focused on restoring the character and charm of this well-loved venue.

The primary design objective was to “bring back the old “glory days' by reintroducing warm brass details and elegant finishes, transforming the pub into a welcoming destination by day and by night.

During the strip-out phase, several original features, including back bar panelling and timber flooring, were uncovered. These elements were carefully retained and celebrated within the new design, forming the foundation of a scheme that balances heritage with modern comfort.

Key design upgrades included: new brass lighting and feature décor, bespoke carpet and bar walkway, rich wallpapers and refined finishes, a curated mix of new and refurbished furniture, a refreshed signage scheme enhancing both interior and exterior appeal.

A standout aspect of the project was the redesign of the ladies' toilets, with a playful brief to make it “a place where someone would want to take a selfie.” The challenge was to achieve this within the constraints of retaining the existing beige wall tiles, cubicles, and vanity units. Our design solution introduced: a feature vanity wall with textured tiles and bold lighting, vibrant ceiling colour and individually painted cubicle doors in shades of teal, a full-length mirror and statement wallpaper panels to add visual impact.

This project successfully combines heritage elements with a refreshed, contemporary aesthetic, creating a unique, inviting space for both loyal patrons and new visitors alike
