WHERE
Rooted in the geological character of Devon’s Jurassic Coast, this project translates natural heritage into a refined and contextually grounded interior. The design draws on the site’s cliffs, fossils and layered strata to form a narrative of discovery, expressed through sculptural timber structures, fossil-inspired detailing and organic lighting forms. Natural finishes, including rammed earth and stratified sand surfaces, establish a strong material connection to place.

A commitment to sustainability and material integrity underpins every aspect of the scheme. Durable, responsibly sourced materials were specified to minimise environmental impact and ensure longevity, from the Clayworks rammed earth wall to the bespoke Wilton carpet with recycled content. Energy-efficient lighting and low-maintenance finishes reinforce the project’s emphasis on lifecycle performance and operational resilience.

Functionality and accessibility are integral to the spatial strategy. Rationalised levels, a central ramp and flexible seating arrangements support inclusivity and efficient circulation, while upgraded staff areas promote wellbeing and performance. The result is a cohesive hospitality environment where narrative, sustainability and technical precision converge to create an enduring and locally resonant design.
